I'm going on vacation next week. We're driving up to Oregon to visit my family, and go to the Scandinavian Festival. I haven't been to Oregon in about three years (that was the last time I saw my dad), & I haven't been to the festival for about 10 years. It'll be great to go back:o) Not looking forward to the two day drive, though:-/
Now I just have a ton of work to get done before then. I swear, I just want to send everyone their money back, and FORGET ABOUT IT. Where's my effin' summer vacation??? I closed up shop so I could be free this summer, and all I have had is work work WORK. *grr*
I'm depressed lately. Yesterday it was starting to get really bad. I was about ready to crawl into bed and not get up. I went to Laura's today, and she was really irritable, and angry (at others, not me), which is SO not like her. She's one of those *cool as a cucumber* people that drive you nuts with how laid back about things they are;o) So, it helped me get the focus off my own depression, and I tried to help her out some. Don't know if I was very effective. I suck at cheering friends up. How lame is that? One of the most important things that friends do, and I just suck at it. God save you if you are my friend, and you start CRYING. My m.o.: sit there, looking uncomfortable. Weird, because I am a fairly emotional person, and I DO care a lot about people. I wish I was better at helping, though.
Ran across a quote today that I really like...two, actually. There were no authors associated with 'em, though, so if you know who these are by, let me know, so I can give proper credit;o)
"If all my friends were to jump off a bridge, I wouldn't jump with them, I'd be at the bottom to catch them."
"There are so many stars in the sky, but only some are radiant enough to capture your attention. Among those you choose to ignore is the one star that is willing to continue shining for you, even if your glance is somewhere else."
